 The Tale's Faer-ees

The Tale
Faer-ees are very similar to our own bees. They live in a hive, most of the females are workers, while the few drones are given special treatment because they are responsible for "servicing" the Faer-ee Queen.     Faer-ees are always a "real"  blond, and it is told that the Goddess JyM created the Fae in her own image.

Orange Faer-ees are the workers in the hives.  They are always Virgos--and like their astrological sign, they're virgins.
A wingless male Faer-ee is called a Drone.  He isn't very intelligent, and, well, he's basically just a "tool". His only purpose is to serve the Queen in ALL possible ways.  However, the rare winged male Orange Faer-ee is very precious to the Queen and to the entire hive, and is treated as a Prince.   Before it became forbidden to marry a Worker Faer-ee, even Drones lead a normal  Faer-ee existence.  Unfortunately, a very jealous and possessive Queen put an end to the male's  happiness. Now they are little more than glorified hand servants. Click image for close up, click name to download.

Beautiful, and unlike their cousins the Elves, very good nature creatures,
a child Faer-ee is a delight to have around.

A female is more likely to be born every season than a male, and unfortunately,
their happy carefree life is short as they are forced into training to the serve the Hive
at a very young age. However, since they grow very fast, often it takes years before
the drudgery of following
the every little order of the Queen destroys their joyful spirit. And you
must remember, that years in a Faer-ee's life moves differently than yours
and mine.

Blue Faer-ees were once orange, but their fascination with magic, and their dedication to collecting Faer-ee Dust, evolved them to the next stage of  Fae- Evolution.  This Second Stage of Evolution can also  occur when a faer-ee female is born between the end of Spring and the beginning of Summer; the sign of Gemini. This "twin" personality leads to a more mischievous behavior, which is why Blue Faer-ees are a big pain to deal with!
Blue Faer-ees are very powerful, but the Fae-Evolution does not end at this stage. They tend to  be less social, concentrating on their studies and practicing their craft instead.  But, no elf or human wants to be around when a  Blue Faer-ee decides she needs a little amusement. Remember what happened to Atlantis?
The Blue male Faer-ee is extremely rare.  When a winged male Fae-ee is born, he may or may not keep his wings into adulthood.  It takes a very powerful blue female to raise him from infancy in order for the wings to become completely functional.  The years of proximity to the Blue female will also result in an evolved male.

All Faer-ees, male or female, are born orange, like their ancient sisters
who were created so many centuries ago by the Goddess JyM. However,
the magic that still surrounds the Island of the Children of JyM sometimes
has a mind of it's own. Is this a cruel little joke on the controlling and
demanding Faer-ee Queen who loses a worker for her busy Hive? Who
on Earth really knows!
